Born in November, 1940, Joel died in March 2017 after a more than fifty year career in the law. He successfully recovered millions of dollars for victims injured in all manner of accidents, and families of those who lost their lives due to the carelessness of others.
As a former prosecutor, he represented wrongfully accused clients in capital crimes and lesser offenses. He brought the same aggressive style to accident cases and those involving employment discrimination.
A firm believer in understanding the facts before arguing them, he had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of medicine, and an impressive network of physicians who provide counsel, advice and expertise. In Medical Malpractice actions and cases involving serious injuries, his wealth of experience has helped earn maximum recovery for his clients.
He was vice president of Madison Square Garden and was no stranger to real estate development. He was involved in the growth of substantial franchises in the New York Area. He brought this experience to bear in commercial litigation. For his knowledge in this area, he was appointed a mediator by the commercial division of the Supreme Court, New York County.
Joel was also, and always will be my Dad. And he will be missed.
